Back to School and Back to BJJ: Fall Kids Enrollment at Praia BJJ Costa Mesa

Praia BJJ at 3010 Harbor Blvd, Suite A, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 is enrolling kids for fall 2026 now.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, NoGi, and Kids Competition programs for children ages 3 through 13 are open for

enrollment. Coach Thiago Pierre, Coach Junior, Coach Malena, and Sensei Gabriel lead the kids

programs at the harbor location, which holds a 5.0-star Google rating from 90-plus Orange County

families.

Why Fall Is the Best Time to Start Kids BJJ

Children who begin Jiu Jitsu at the start of the school year build a training routine that complements the

academic schedule from day one. The discipline, focus, and frustration tolerance developed through BJJ

training in September and October shows up directly in classroom performance and social interactions

through the school year.

Starting in September also means arriving in October with a month of foundation already built. The

children who are furthest ahead by winter break are almost always the ones who started earliest in the fall.

What Kids Gain at Praia BJJ This Fall

Physical development: BJJ is a complete full-body workout that builds strength, coordination, balance, and

cardiovascular fitness naturally. Children who train consistently arrive at spring in significantly better

physical condition than peers who were sedentary over fall.

Academic performance: the focus and self-regulation developed through martial arts training transfer

directly to classroom performance. Costa Mesa and Newport Beach teachers regularly note the difference

in students who train martial arts consistently.

Self-defense capability: practical, tested self-defense skill is built into the Praia BJJ curriculum from the

first class. Children who train BJJ know how to handle themselves in the physical situations childhood and

adolescence present.
